Puluong is easily accessed by roads with 3 options for land transportation:
* 1st option: This is the shortest way with 165kms and 3.5 hours driving. Roads get through the hill tribal authentic villages of Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa with excellent viewpoints of Puluong valley.

* 2nd option: This is the easiest way, especially suitable for families with children or elder travelers. Travel along the legendary Ho Chi Minh trails and Ma (Horse) historical river. After 180km you will reach Puluong Retreat.

* 3rd option: This is the longest way, with 190 km and 4.5 hours of driving with a stopover in the famous Mai Chau, homeland of Thai people. Travellers usually take this road for a combination of Mai Chau and Puluong, possibly with Ninh Binh and Halong.

By Air

Travellers from Ho Chi Minh City could fly to Thanh Hoa (Tho Xuan Airport) with 10 daily departures. For weekend holiday, travellers can leave Ho Chi Minh on Friday evening and then return on Sunday night.
